What is NDIS plan management?

NDIS plan management is a process by which an NDIS service provider helps individuals with a disability to develop and manage their NDIS plan. The service provider assists the individual in understanding what services and supports they are eligible for, developing a budget, purchasing support, and monitoring the plan’s progress.

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provides people with disability access to the reasonable and necessary support to live life their way. The NDIS is funded by the Australian government and administered through state and territory governments. For more information about the NDIS, visit https://www.ndis.gov.au/.

How does NDIS Plan Manager work?

NDIS Plan Manager is the name for the process that the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) uses to assess and manage the individual plans of people with disabilities. It is responsible for creating, monitoring, and reviewing each participant’s plan and liaising with service providers and other support networks.

The NDIS Plan Manager was introduced in 2013 as part of the NDIS trial phase and has been gradually rolled out across Australia since then. It is currently available in all states and territories, with full national coverage expected by 2019-20. The Plan Manager operates independently of government funding and is funded by a levy on disability insurance policies.

It is also an online tool that helps you manage your NDIS plan and budget. You can use it to:

-View your current plan and budget

-update contact details, bank account details, and other information

-report changes in your circumstances

-request changes to your plan

-view service reports and expenditure data.

Why choose NDIS Plan Manager?

If you are an NDIS participant, you may choose to use a Plan Manager to help you coordinate your support and services. A Plan Manager can assist you with things like developing your plan, booking and managing service providers, and claims and invoicing.

There are many reasons why participants might choose to use a Plan Manager. For some, it is helpful to have someone else manage the day-to-day aspects of their NDIS plan. This can remove some of the stress and pressure associated with self-managing, leaving participants free to focus on other things.

For others, using a Plan Manager can provide peace of mind knowing that their plan is being managed by an experienced professional.
